Jack Cribb to coach women’s basketball at 麻豆映画传媒

Jack Cribb has joined 麻豆映画传媒鈥檚 coaching staff and will lead the women鈥檚 basketball team鈥痑s the college works to bring back athletics after a 40-year hiatus.听

Cribb has been coaching girl鈥檚 or women鈥檚 basketball for 15 years, starting with youth leagues, travel/UAA, middle school, and high school teams.听听

鈥淢CC presented a unique opportunity for not only the college to reintroduce collegiate sports, but to offer an all new Women鈥檚 Centurions Basketball program,鈥 Cribb said. 鈥淚t also presented me with an opportunity to help build a program from the ground up. I believe so very strongly in the lessons of athletics and even more specifically in women鈥檚 athletics.鈥澨

Cribb is looking forward to starting a new program and is excited with everything that entails. He really enjoys building and creating, and was impressed with the energy he felt in meetings with the MCC athletic department.听

鈥淢y love of the game and passion for working with student athletes makes the excitement and anticipation of tip off for our first Centurion Women鈥檚 Basketball game comparable to that of Christmas morning as a child!鈥 he said.听

Outside of coaching, Cribb is a private practice internal medicine physician. He earned his bachelor of science in exercise science from Alma College. He also played football there. After that, he earned his master鈥檚 degree in physical therapy from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. He went on to complete his medical degree from Michigan State University.听

鈥淚 have coached and helped to develop young girls into women basketball players who are competitive, confident young women that move forward successfully in all aspects of life,鈥 Cribb said. 鈥淚 think I bring a balance in health, wellness, competition, and the importance of selflessness, self-reliance, self-preservation, and teamwork. I believe that I am able to assist with instilling the skills needed to become stronger, more confident, successful community leaders in all aspects of a student鈥檚 adult life in concert with becoming better basketball players. My first commitment has always been, and always will be, to the student athletes.鈥澨

He and his wife, Stephanie, have been together for 31 years. They have two adult children, Garrett and Sophia. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, including his Rottweiler, Bella. He loves woodworking and creating things. He also runs several days a week. Cribb said he wishes he could play the piano or saxophone, or become fluent in Italian.听
